The Rao Residence in Green Park, Delhi, focuses on serene, personal bedrooms and a sculptural contemporary façade. Each bedroom is designed with its own mood while sharing a calm palette of warm whites, natural wood, soft greys and gentle accent colours.
Master bedroom
The master bedroom features a softly curved upholstered headboard set against vertical wood slats, with paper-lantern pendants on either side. Wooden flooring, a textured rug and dusty-rose bedding make the room feel cosy. Opposite the bed, a floating TV unit is framed by fluted panels and a backlit stone surface.
Guest and family bedrooms
Other bedrooms explore different textures. One uses a scalloped wall panel above a timber headboard with mint-green accents and a woven rug. Another is built around a backlit stone feature panel, with a vertical garden panel by the window bringing nature indoors. A third features a large geometric relief wall with circular patterns, warm wall lights and an olive tree in a planter. Throughout, wall-mounted TV units, built-in shelving and study corners keep surfaces clear and the rooms practical for daily life.
Lighting and finishes
Layered lighting runs through every room: concealed strips around ceilings and panels, bedside pendants and soft floor lamps. Light wood, linen-like fabrics and matte finishes keep the look relaxed and timeless.
Façade
The exterior is designed as a bold composition of glass, white planes and a cylindrical volume wrapped in vertical fins, with planters spilling over the upper levels. It gives the house a modern, sculptural presence in the neighbourhood.
Design approach
Because the bedrooms are the focus of this project, the design gives each one a distinct identity through a single feature, such as a curved headboard, a stone panel, a green wall or a geometric relief, while shared materials and lighting keep the home feeling coherent.
