The Vijay Residence in Sonipat, Haryana, is a soft, contemporary home where storage and study spaces are designed as carefully as the bedrooms themselves. Warm taupe, ivory and natural marble set a calm base, with gentle curves and arches repeated throughout.
Bedrooms
The master bedroom is lined with a full wall of wardrobes whose shutters rise into soft arches, finished in ivory and taupe and framed with fine detailing. A padded headboard panel in a quilted pattern, a low upholstered bed and a swirling marble-pattern rug give the room a relaxed, layered look. Concealed lighting traces the ceiling and outlines a tall display niche beside the door.
Study
A study corner is built into the bedroom with a curved floating desk in fluted wood, an overhead cabinet with arched shutters, open shelves and a comfortable task chair. The result is a quiet workspace that feels part of the room rather than an afterthought.
Living spaces
The living areas continue the classic-contemporary theme with panelled walls, marble floors, curved sofas in deep brown and cream, and statement lighting. A TV lounge features a dark stone panel framed by light wall cladding, with tufted armchairs and a crystal chandelier.
Materials and lighting
Across the home, the design relies on a small number of well-chosen materials: marble flooring, matte lacquered joinery, upholstered panels and wood accents. Layered lighting, from cove strips to table lamps, keeps each room warm and inviting from morning to night.
Design approach
Repeating the arch across wardrobes, cabinets and wall details gives the home a gentle, unified character. Storage is planned generously but hidden behind well-proportioned shutters, so rooms stay calm and uncluttered while still holding everything a busy family needs.
